Hi,
it seems like my PLEX setup doesn't recognize that my client (mostly the web app) is on the same network as my Drobo (PLEX server).
I also have the "This server is not powerful enough to convert video" problem (discussed here: http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/153446/this-server-is-not-powerful-enough-to-convert-video) since some update in the past (before that update everything was working fine).
I don't want to start another discussion about that problem, but this problem only appears if I set my remote streaming quality (settings -> web -> player) to something different than "Original". That's strange because - if I understand correctly - the remote quality option is just for connections outside my PLEX server network. As long as I'm on the same network PLEX should use the local quality setting, right? (And by the way, what's the difference between "remote quality" and "online quality"?)
So my local quality is set to "Original" and my remote quality is usually set to something lower. But with this setting I get the "not powerful enough" error, even if I'm on the same network. If I change remote quality to "Original" the error disappears. So my guess is that PLEX doesn't recognize that I'm on the same network and always acts like I'm somewhere else.
I already checked things like changing from app.plex.tv/web to using the local ip address of my Drobo directly (same result).
Is there a way to check if PLEX recognizes the local network clients correctly? Or do I have to change some settings to get local playback working? (By the way, "Direct Play" and "Direct Stream" are already checked, if that makes any difference)
(Server version currently is 0.9.12.6, but same thing happened with earlier versions)
